Visas for Armenia can be obtained directly in the airport of Yerevan, or from the Armenian embassy in your country. More and more.
Yerevan Airport
Zvartnots is the international airport, connecting Yerevan with many cities in the world. There are around 60 routes scheduled to fly from Zvartnots. There is a free wifi in the terminals. The cart costs 400 drams, and to hire a service man to help you with luggage and cart is 2 000 drams. To get to the hotel you should take a taxi, which will cost around 3 000 drams. Note that transportation from Zvartnots airport to Best Western Congress Hotel (about 13 km) will be provided by conference organizers.

Currency
Dram is the Armenian national currency. US $1 is approximately 370 drams, 1 EUR is about 520 drams, and 1 UK pound is around 610 drams. Check this currency converter. You can exchange currency directly at the airport, or at various banks in Yerevan.

About Armenia
Armenia occupies territory of 30.000 square km in Caucasus. During its best times in 1st century BC Armenian Kingdom occupied 300 000 square km and was stretching from Caspian to Mediterranean seas.
Now it is mainly mountanious country with 3 000 000 population.
The main religion is Christianity. The country claims to be the first adopted Christianity as state religion in 301 AD.
Official language is Armenian, considered as an independent branch in Indo-European Family of Languages. Armenian Alphabet was created in 405 AD.
The capital is Yerevan with population over 1 000 000. It was founded by king Argishti I in 782 BC, which makes it 29 years older than Rome.
Sightseeing
The most popular attractions are various medieval churches with unique architecture and carvings, pagan temple Garni of 1st century AD, the church of 12th century carved in the rock Geghard, one of the biggest and beautiful mountaniuous lake Sevan, etc. Yerevan offers saturated cultural events as well, with its Opera and Ballet Theatre and Concert Hall, Museums of Art and History, Republic Square with its daily concerts of singings and dancing colorful fountains.
